Currently, the center operates with 150 beds and 36 transplantation units, making it a globally significant pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation center. The center is physically located at Dongguan Taixin Hospital.
Expert Team: Nanfang-Chunfu Children's Institute of Hematology & Oncology is led by Professor Li Chunfu. The expert team has made multiple appearances at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the European Hematology Association (EHA), presenting oral and poster reports. Specialization: From July 2018 to November 2023, Nanfang-Chunfu Children's Institute of Hematology & Oncology has conducted 1,186 cases of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The transplantation covers a range of diseases in the blood and immune systems, including thalassemia, pediatric myelomonocytic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, aplastic anemia, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and immunodeficiency diseases. Notably, the utilization of semi-matched transplantation techniques, including TDH transplantation (T-cell depletion through allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation), has reached maturity, accounting for 69.89% of the total transplant cases. Innovative and complementary transplantation strategies have resulted in an overall survival rate (OS) of 97.6% for thalassemia patients.
